How to Make Banana and Pepperoni Flapjacks

Flapjacks are also called pancakes. In other words, a flapjack is to pancake whereas chips are to French fries. This means that for the British, it is called flapjacks while the American counterpart are pancakes. In addition, the British people also love chips while the Americans love French fries.

Regardless if you call this type of food pancakes or flapjacks, you will surely enjoy adding banana or pepperoni unto the batter. Enjoy your breakfast with these simple recipes for flapjacks.

Banana Flapjack

Ingredients:

A cup of all-purpose flour
A sifter
A batter bowl or a medium-sized bowl
1 1/2 teaspoons of sugar
A teaspoon of baking powder
Half teaspoon of salt
Half teaspoon of baking soda
A whisk
1 whole egg
A cup of buttermilk
2 tablespoons of canola oil
A teaspoon of vanilla extract
A ladle
A hot skillet or griddle
A small bowl
Warm maple syrup
A spatula; and
2 whole ripe bananas that are cut into thin slices

1. You must first sift the flour, sugar, salt, baking soda and baking powder into a batter bowl or a medium-sized bowl.

2. Beat the egg in a small bowl vigorously using a fork or a whisk.

3. Add the vanilla extract, oil and buttermilk to the egg and stir.

4. Mix the liquid ingredients with the dry mixture thoroughly.

5. Using a ladle, place the banana flapjack batter onto the hot skillet or griddle.

6. You can place at least four banana slices on every flapjack.

7. Once the bubble form along the top and side portion of the cake, you can now flip the flapjack so that the other side will be cooked.

8. Allow the other side to cook. You can now remove the flapjack on the skillet once it turns brown or golden brown.

9. Before you serve the banana flapjacks to your friends or loved ones, place warm maple syrup on top.

Pepperoni Flapjack

Ingredients:
An electric griddle
A Medium-sized mixing bowl
2 cups of baking mix
A cup of milk
2 whole eggs, beaten
1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup of chopped green pepper
1/2 cup of chopped tomato
A can opener
1 4-ounce can of mushroom pieces and mushroom stems
2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning
1/3 cup of measuring cup
A Spatula

1. You must heat the griddle to around 350 degrees.

2. Then, Stir all the ingredients together in a medium-sized mixing bowl.

3. Next, pour the batter unto the hot griddle or skillet. Make sure that each flapjack is uniform in size.

4. You can flip the flapjacks so that the other side will be cooked as well once the bubbles are formed and the edges are now dry.

5. Remove the flapjacks once both sides are golden brown. You can add different toppings like burger patties, onions or Canadian bacon.
